Tuesday 29 April 2025 Year 5 Photographers Storm Local Competition We are thrilled to announce that our Year 5 students at Oldfield Brow Primary have been declared the winners of the annual Rotary Club photo competition. This remarkable achievement highlights the creativity and skill of our young photographers, who have excelled in capturing compelling images that resonated with the judges. We are immensely proud of their hard work and dedication. This accomplishment not only showcases their talents but also sets a wonderful example for all learners at Oldfield Brow Primary.

Sunday 30 March 2025 Year 6 Debate Year 6 had the wonderful opportunity to experience a formal debate; facilitated by colleagues and students from Trafford College's debate club. The topic of the debate was "Should children have been evacuated during World War II?" The morning began with the children being taught about how debates are run, including examples of how debates take place within the House of Commons. The children were exposed to new technical vocabulary such as proposition, seconder and rebuttals. Half of the children began planning their arguments for evacuation whilst the other half of the children planned to argue against evacuation. Alongside their existing knowledge from history lessons, the children used evidence such as news articles, statistics and some real life stories from children who were evacuated during WWII. Tuesday 11 March 2025 Year 5 Air Quality Theatre Roadshow Year 5 were very lucky this afternoon to have an Air Quality and Sustainable Travel Education Theatre Visit - 'Abbie Ayre and the Shed of Science’. There was a lot of laughter in the hall, as we learned a lot about how every single one of us can make a difference to our air quality when we choose to walk/cycle or scooter to school every day!

Wednesday 12 February 2025 Miss Kelly Leading a Workshop at EE Conference Our exceptional Miss Kelly lead a workshop at the Early Excellence conference in Harrogate on 11th February in front of EYFS leaders and senior leaders across the North Wesdt. Wednesday 22 January 2025 International Partnerships - UK and China We continue to be proud of our unique collaboration with Suman International which seeks to bridge the education systems of China and the UK. This initiative aims to enrich our curriculum and provide our learners with a global perspective, preparing them for a diverse and interconnected world. We believe that such international partnerships enhance cultural understanding and foster a spirit of cooperation and mutual respect among young learners as well as providing a sense of belonging to our Chinese school community. We are looking forward to continuing the partnership over the coming months.

Friday 15 November 2024 Anti-Bullying Week 2024 - Choose Respect Oh, what a week it's been at Oldfield Brow Primary! We've been knee-deep in the theme of respect as we celebrated Anti-Bullying Week 2024. The theme this year was 'Choose Respect'. We've had them crafting, creating, and collaborating on our new anti-bullying charter that would put the Magna Carta to shame. They've been discussing what respect means in the playground, the classroom, and even in the dinner queue!

Friday 15 November 2024 Children in Need 'runPudsey' Challenge 2024 It is a tradition at Oldfield Brow that we celebrate Children in Need and raise money for those less fortunate for ourselves. Thursday 12 September 2024 Headteachers from China Visit Oldfield Brow On Thursday 12th September, Mr Cash and Mrs Moody welcomed Headteachers of schools in China to Oldfield Brow to share with them how the education system in the UK works. Our children, as always, were our greatest asset and showed our visitors the very best of our school. We are excited to grow this partnership as we welcome more teachers and professionals from China over this term.

Monday 22 July 2024 Peter Pan - The Musical Our exceptional Year 6 learners performed an OUTSTANDING musical performance of Peter Pan for the school, their parents/carers and family last week to standing ovations from everyone who watched. The signing was so powerful and the children delivered their lines with confidence and vigour. What a brilliant performance by our exceptional Year 6 learners! Well done!

Monday 22 July 2024 Reception Visit to Imagine That! Our wonderful Reception children had a fabulous time on their visit today! They made snow, slime, bath bombs and fridge magnets, had fun in the role-play areas, and completed many experiments! I asked the children what the best part of their visit was and they said "all of it!"

Sunday 16 June 2024 Year 6 visit the Wilderness! Last week, our intrepid Year 6 learners spent an entire week in the 'Wilderness' for their annual Year 6 residential visit. They had a fantastic time enjoying new experiences and applying our school values in an environment outside the normal classroom.

Sunday 28 April 2024 Yorkshire Three Peaks Success The morning after the epic day before. Our intrepid team of exceptional explorers have not only managed to bring our dream of a Forest School at Oldfield Brow to life but have also been an inspiration to our fabulous children and community. We cannot thank the team enough for all they have done for our school and the personal challenge you have completed.
